Major in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics
A major in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics consists of a range of compulsory and elective subjects, as outlined in the handbook, and in our 'Major' information document (90kb pdf). If you have an interest in continuing on to Honours and/or further study in Linguistics we recommend you include, if possible, in your course plan (at least) one of:
Morphology (LING30013)
Phonology (LING30002)
And (at least) one of:
Semantics (LING30007)
Discourse and Pragmatics (LING30004)
First Language Acquisition (LING30003)

Minor in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics and English Language Studies
It is also possible to take a minor in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics or a minor in English Language Studies.
